2004

During the year levelling work was carried out with retevisión and tradia in order to ensure the profitability and smooth running of abertis telecom. Work also began on strengthening the business area of mobile radio-communications for security and emergency bodies, obtaining the contract for the Jerez City Council.

In the audiovisual sphere, abertis telecom was awarded the transport services of the IB3 signal, the TV company of the Balearic autonomous region

2005

The official launch of Terrestrial Digital Television. abertis telecom has the only network in Spain that provides coverage to 80% of the population.

abertis telecom carried out the first DTT tests on mobile phones, holding technical pilot tests in Madrid and Barcelona, alongside the main companies from the sector. These pilot tests were aimed at analysing the behaviour of the DVB-H technology as well as that of the consumer faced with the possibilities provided by mobile television facilities. Technical pilot tests were later held in Seville and Valencia.

During the year, abertis telecom was awarded the audiovisual services for the broadcasters of the autonomous regions of Aragon and Extremadura.

2006

abertis telecom was awarded the contract that made it the DTT signal operator for national coverage Spanish broadcasters. This contract includes more than 20 channels.

The company had a determinant role in the launch of the new national television channels, Cuatro and La Sexta.

abertis telecom leads the Furia project, in which more than 20 companies from the sector are analysing the second generation of DTT.

It is continuing with the development of the Mobile TV project, with the mobile DTT pilot technical tests in Zaragoza and Gijón.

abertis telecom is the official network supplier in 3GSM World Congress, guaranteeing the mobile DTT demonstrations during the congress that brought together the leading companies in mobile communications.

The strengthening of the mobile radio-communications business area yielded results, as can be seen from the contract signed with the Seville City Council, which awarded abertis telecom the new municipal radio-communications network (SECORA).
