Main milestones retevisión
1989
retevisión was founded as a public corporation responsible for ensuring the radio and television signal reached Spanish homes. Its clients were the main public and private broadcasters.
1996
The seed was sown for what would be the second telecommunication operator in Spain. The Spanish Parliament awarded retevisión the licence to provide a fixed telephone service. retevisión became a Limited Liability Company and later all its capital stock was privatised.
The company led the liberalisation process of telecommunications in Spain.
2000
retevisión formed part of the Grupo Auna, which provided fixed and mobile telephone, audiovisual, Internet and cable services.
The retevisión audiovisual network was chosen to set up the first Terrestrial Digital Television platform in Spain.
2003
After completing the division process from Auna, retevisión’s audiovisual business became part of abertis, thus strengthening the presence of the group in Spanish telecommunications.
